There is a date at the top of this piece — 11.22.2025. Some dates are as timestamps. Some dates are for memory making. Both the timestamp and the memory made here are what make up this post.
More than a compilation of words, this is a subjective diagnosis, another website blog post headline, and a moment a person sat down and chose a perhaps over a forgotten future.
What follows could be considered a poem about darkness, despair or deliberate growth. Words listed below are a poetic selection of the word "perhaps" — the small, deliberate hinge between what could have been and what might still be.
Every line here performs the same quiet act: it takes something heavy, sets it down, and offers something lighter in its place. Nothing is erased. Nothing is denied. Nothing is forgiven. Something is simply offered as an alternative. That is the entire architecture of this work.
Nothing here is fixed by force and yet everything is reframed by perception.
I cannot summarize what it says, because summary would remove the conversation you have with yourself. I can narrate, write and share.
I am asking you, instead, to slow down, like you're encapsulated by bliss or boredom in sculpture form within your own art exhibit. To read this the way you would stare in a room designed for exactly one purpose: to let you experience something wholeheartedly, without anyone rushing you toward the next work of art - just this one, worthwhile and one word at a time.
This is "(ex)(it) rAMP's"
Perhaps facts instead of acts
Perhaps people with pulses instead of people with prompts
Perhaps a list of release instead of a list of regrets
Perhaps scenarios you can live in instead of scenarios you can't
Perhaps times you can trust instead of chances you can take
Perhaps memories you can relate instead of memories on replay
Perhaps discuss instead of disgust
Perhaps sew the sides instead of death because life
Perhaps laughter instead of being the joke
Perhaps another perspective instead of reality switch
Perhaps now instead of another
Perhaps clarity in the roster instead of reasoning trying
Perhaps pick and fuse on the ark instead of pick and choose
Perhaps no more instead of know more
Perhaps know more instead of ask for less
Perhaps a place to breathe instead of borrowed space
Perhaps strangers with heart instead of friends w/ foes
Perhaps self-self instead of the faces
Perhaps worth in slow instead of evaluating concepts
Perhaps body breaks instead of a breaking spirit
Perhaps an article with beauty instead of words to work
Perhaps a year of worthwhile instead of cursing the curse
Perhaps which craft instead of spells without letters
Perhaps pencils instead of dry-erase
Perhaps like it is instead of try again
Perhaps fixing isn't broken instead of be: 'causes
Perhaps a time it's sleep without the insomnia instead of body closes eyes, i's, and hides
Perhaps one more word instead of one less word.

Linger in this language within.
Some words are meant to be carried rather than acted on immediately. It feels like something? Read again tomorrow; share with the second person who comes to mind; keep it in the vicinity of the voices you reach for - journals, books, loved ones. There is no actual appropriate response to a piece like this, there is an opportunity to feel and favorite, a lesson to learn and unlearn and an opening, much like a beginning.
If something in these lines felt familiar — if a "perhaps" landed closer to home than expected — that recognition matters more than any words I could add here. You are allowed to indulge in the experience. You are allowed to document the depth of the emotional resonance and the physical shift. You are welcome to make your own allowances, too.
Thank you for reading this the way it was designed to be felt - curiously, full of wonder, and with questions that inspire another day, innovate your next memory and immerse you into this moment.

Brilliant Brain Break
The Perhaps Equalizer
A Brilliant Brain Break is not a break from thinking. It's a break from the thinking you've been doing on autopilot — the loop neuroscience calls default-mode wandering, the groove your brain settles into the moment nothing asks it to notice itself.
This is mentortainment: a few minutes of guided imagination doing the quiet work of neuroplasticity, the brain's proven capacity to build new pathways every time you practice a new way of seeing. It's not intended as therapy or a lecture; however, it can be considered as your rehearsal space for a different self.
Every Brain Break in this series runs on one idea: perception has a dial, not a switch.
Today's dial looks like a soundboard — a row of faders, each one a "perhaps."
Nothing here is on or off; everything is a slide.
Fader One — Sweet or Salty
I'm not asking a trivia question. This is your starting frequency. Pick one, right now, before reading further: sweet or salty.
Now dive deeper: on a scale from a quiet 2 (barely a preference) to a loud 9 (you'd defend it at dinner), where do your taste buds shout back?
That number is telling you something about how you move through small decisions — the ones that don't seem to matter, until they reveal exactly how you'll handle the ones that do.
This is behavioral practice in miniature: noticing intensity before you ever get to meaning.
Fader Two — "perhaps a place to breathe instead of borrowed space"
Slide this one up. Where in your week are you occupying space that was never fully yours, whether it's a schedule, an opinion, a role you inherited versus space built entirely for your own comfortable exhale?
You don't have to answer out loud. You only have to notice which spaces made your chest shiver as you read that sentence.
Fader Three — "perhaps clarity in the roster instead of reasoning trying"
Slide this one, too. Somewhere on your roster is your list of roles, tasks, relationships and one item is asking you to keep reasoning your way toward permission you likely already have. Clarity doesn't require another argument. Clarity requires you to stop trying to win one.
Fader Four — "perhaps an article with beauty instead of words to work"
My turn. This is one fader we're staying with and here's how to reframe it —
"Perhaps an article with beauty instead of words to work"
Fix in Six:
Notice the frame you're in right now. Are you reading this as a task to finish, or a page to be inside of?
Name the task language. Find the word in your head that turns reading into work.. Work that's effort-intense, purpose-lacking, and morally agnostic. What is that word? "should?" "now?" "more?"
Locate one sentence of beauty. This isn't something that you search for, it's the word that finds you. It's not the most useful sentence on this page; it is the most beautiful one. Find it before you move on.
Slow your eyes to its pace, not your schedule's. Let the sentence set the speed, even for enough seconds that you become concious of time as a tuner - more, less. Start with four seconds, unless...
Ask what the sentence would sound like read aloud, to a mind you'd want to get lost in. Voice changes meaning. Try it silently if you have to.
Carry the sentence, not the summary. You don't need to remember what this section said. But do remember where it landed within you: this you and a next version of you.
That's one reframe from this. The reframe isn't more reading. The reframe is more presence inside the reading you already do.
Taking the You-Turn
When is the last time you read for leisure - not information, not obligation, but leisure: present in the moment, absent from the task, fully immersed word by word in the reality spread across the page?
Imagine this:
Three beach chairs, side by side, each holding a different part of you: one chair for your body, one chair for your brain, one chair for your being. Place a book on each - whichever book you want and open to whatever page you choose.
Watch as the wind moves across all three chairs and books, flipping pages in rhythm with the sand twirling across the beach floor.
Feel the wind pick up speed, then steadily slow.
What happens to the pages from afar? What happens to the pages if you moved yourself onto each beach chair into that form of your existence - a body, a brain, a being? In the eyes of your body, your brain, and your being — what words does each sight catch mid-flip, carried by the pace of the wind and the turn of the sand?
Much like those pages, we are riding a road someone else paved for us. The wind is the speed of the vehicle we didn't always choose to be driving and the scene you just built — three chairs, three books, one shared wind is an exit ramp available to the vehicle that carries you. We can see it as an escape or a choice of direction, driven at exactly the speed of our perception.
Hitting the Pause Button
This is the work of every Brain Break: not finding fault in the finite but redefining the infinite of possibilities to the opportunities within our identity. It could be like redesigning the frequency you've been living at by default; you don't need every fader at maximum; you only need to know you have access to a board.
Turn one dial. See what can be amplified.
